Fabric Friday

Cosmo Cricket, Swimclass in Blue.

Sooo cute!!! I'm dying to make a new beach bag just so I have an excuse to order some!

Thursday

Quilt Crush

Original by Film in the Fridge

I have to start by saying that I've been a longtime admirer of Film in the Fridge and her fabulous quilts, not to mention great blog. What a great way to feature all of your favorite fabrics in such a special way! And it seems like a happily straightforward quilt, which is just what this newbie needs :)

Original by Film in the Fridge

And here she does it again! She reversed the lattice grid concept for a simple, but bold, quilt. I love how this one lets the white shine by featuring it and quilting it very nicely. This would be a good way to use up any scrap strips you have lying around.

Sunday

Sew Spoiled Sew Along: All Done!

Sew Spoiled Weekender - Mine
Wahoo!!!!!!!! All done, and I LOVE it! Pink and green and fabulous! It's super roomy inside with 2 gigundo pockets, plus it's quite light so once I fill it with all my stuff it won't be toooo heavy :)

Sew Spoiled Weekender - Raygan's
Here is Raygan's bag, in all it's bamboo-handled fabulousness! The handles are even attached with coordinating grosgrain ribbon. So cute!

Sew Spoiled Weekender
See how nice they look?! This was a much better idea than attached with fabric tabs, like one would usually.

Sew Spoiled Weekender
Here are the 2 girls together!

Sew Spoiled Weekender - Me
Here I am modeling my fave new bag! So exciting! (And you'll have to pardon my makeup-less, hairbrush-less, simple Sunday look. Sunday is my day off from primping.)

Sew Spoiled Weekender - Raygan
Here is my Raygan! She is a proud little bag mama! Good job, lady!

Sew Spoiled Sew Along: Making Progress!

Weekender - pleating and shell (2)
Here she is, all sewn up and ready for cutting!

Weekender - pleating and shell (5)
Here is the pleat template, ready to cut off all the excess. It sure seemed like a lot, and after all that work I was pretty scared to cut it, but the other participants said to just go for it!

Weekender - pleating and shell (9)
All done. Both sides cut.

Weekender - pleating and shell (11)
Here's the big scary pile of all the cut pieces. Now what to make with all of these?!

Weekender - pleating and shell (12)
The straps are ready to baste, thereby reducing any shifting during later sewing.

Weekender - pleating and shell (14)
Straps AND border attached. This is really starting to look like a real bag!

Weekender - pleating and shell
Attached and topstitched! Woo hoo!

Raygan's Bag
Raygan's bag
This is Raygan's bag. Remember, she doesn't have a blog, so I'll be posting for her. Doesn't this look so fab and springy?

Raygan's bag2
Here we go! Borders are attached.

Raygan's bag4
Borders attached, topstitched, and cut! Can't wait to see this come together!

Sew Spoiled Sew Along: Pieces Cut!

Weekender - cut (4)
Here are all my pieces, ironed, laid together and ready to go! Next step is to piece it all together.

Weekender - cut (6)
This is the pocket on the lining, which will end up making 2 very large slip pockets. I'll be putting my iPhone, iPod, earbuds and all essential entertainment gear in these.
